Problems tend to occur after long-term operation of busbar bending machines, especially severe wear of punches, which requires timely replacement. Here are effective methods to extend punch service life.
Punch Operation Procedure
Turn on the power switch and step on the foot switch to start the oil pump of the unit. Press the punching foot switch again to drive the punch forward. Release the switch to halt movement, and step down once more to resume feeding. The punch will automatically return to the top dead center when approaching the limit switch. Press the manual retract button to pull back the punch at any time, and release the button to stop retraction.
Punch Lubrication
Apply lubricant to all moving parts twice a day in the morning and afternoon. Check the actual cutting position through observation holes on the cutter blocks. Position busbars on the workbench with scale sliders, set cutting dimensions and fasten workpieces tightly with clamping handwheels to avoid warping and die damage. Keep busbars horizontal throughout punching processing.
Matching Die Application
Always use matched dies. Do not assemble upper and lower dies with different inner diameters. Keep upper and lower dies aligned in the same direction when punching elongated holes, otherwise the dies will be damaged.
Improper hydraulic oil selection is a major cause of hydraulic system failures. Reasonable oil selection enhances operational stability, extends the service life of hydraulic components and ensures safe machine operation.
Working Environmental Conditions
Select hydraulic oil according to ambient temperature and operating pressure. Operating environments are categorized into four types: fixed indoor equipment with mild temperature variation; outdoor and mobile equipment exposed to drastic temperature changes in cold regions; humid underground and waterborne facilities; equipment operating near high-temperature heat sources and open flames.
Proper Viscosity
Determine suitable viscosity after confirming oil type, based on startup conditions, operating temperature and pump model.
Cost Performance
Economic efficiency is an essential factor in oil selection. Similar products vary in price and performance. Higher price does not always mean better quality. Choose cost-effective qualified products. Inferior cheap oil may cause equipment damage and bring greater economic losses.
